„The best players don't necessarily make a great team” meinte David Coverdale einmal. Auch wenn sämtliche Musiker der 2005 gegründeten Band I.P.D. schon einige Erfahrung sammeln konnten, ist es das Gefühl, als Team zu agieren, welches die aus dem Raum Basel stammende Truppe schlagkräftig macht. Thomas Lustenberger (Lead Vocals, Piano) und Sascha Happle (Guitars) ernteten mit ihrem Projekt ARRIVAL (EMI Switzerland) erst kürzlich gute Kritiken. Ersterer war auch der Kopf der Band EMERGENCY (AOR Heaven), bediente ausserdem die Tasten bei der US-Country-Lady BONNIE JEANNE TAYLOR und komponierte auf ihrem in Nashville produzierten Album die Megaballade „The way it should be“. Martin Markus (Drums) ist zusätzlich als Jazzdrummer aktiv und schwingt für eine ELVIS-Tributeband die Stöcke. Nicky Malenica (Bass) hat sich bereits als Gitarrist einen guten Ruf in der Region erworben und ist mittlerweile als Bassist bei den „Dogs“ unersetzbar. Alex Diehl (Keys) stand mit AVANISH auf der Bühne und ist der ruhende Pol bei den ambitionierten Rockern. I.P.D. – die Abkürzung steht für „INNER PIGDOG“ – ist ihr gemeinsames Zuhause, welches vor allem von Whitesnake-Klassikern bewohnt wird. Doch nicht nur die weisse Schlange hat es der Combo angetan: Bon Jovi, Ozzy Osbourne und Journey zählen zu den weiteren Favoriten, aber auch Nicht-Hardrocker wie Prince, Seal oder Christopher Cross finden im abwechslungsreichen Programm einen Platz und selbstverständlich sind auch Balladen eine tolle Abwechslung, sowohl für die Band als auch für das Publikum. Welcher Interpret auch gerade zu Ehren kommt – die Party ist garantiert. Und das Konzept, mit reichlich Herzblut, Professionalität und dem nötigen Power-Groove in den Adern das Haus zu rocken, geht auf. In den Schweizer „Konzerttempel“ Z-7 wurden sie als Vorband von ''Fish'' und ''REO Speedwagon'' eingeladen und im Rock-City in Uster, wo bereits Grössen wie George Lynch auftraten, gewannen sie einen Cover Band-Contest. In den letzten Jahren konnte sich der Fünfer aus dem Raum Basel eine beachtliche Fangemeinde erspielen. Noch Fragen? Even if all the members of the 2005 founded band I.P.D have loads of experience in being musicians, the feeling of a band (and a team) is unbeatable. The idea of I.P.D. was simple and not new at all. The intension was to cover Pop- and Rock Songs mainly from Whitesnake among others. Thomas Lustenberger (Lead Vocals, Piano) and Sascha Happle (Guitars) had quite good critics all over the world with their latest project ARRIVAL (EMI Switzerland). Thomas was also the head of the swiss rock band EMERGENCY (AOR Heaven), played piano in the band TAYLOR MADE (USA) and composed the ballad "The way it should be" which was recorded in Nashville/USA in 2004. Last but not least he was playing keyboards on Angi Schiliro's album White Lady. Drummer Martin Markus is an active jazz drummer and plays also in an Elvis Tribute band. Bassist Nicky Malenica is well known as a guitar player in the german and swiss rock scene but established himself as a bass player. Keyboardplayer Alex Diehl was on stage with the band AVANISH. All of the musicians are aware of the fact that with Classix it's much easier to get gigs than with own material. Even there ain't no pro's in I.P.D. the band is exploding on stage. Visitors can confirm without any doubt. Larger venues such as Z7 in Pratteln, where I.P.D. were invited to support ''Fish'' and ''REO Speedwagon'', or smaller stages like Rock City in Uster, the band convinces with rocking guitars and a little bit of a Rockstar attitude. Go to their gigs, have a beer and enjoy yourself when you hear: ''Here's a song for you...''
